My routes don't show up on my other device
Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account on both devices and that iCloud is turned on for Rittiers in Settings › [your name] › iCloud. The first sync can take a few minutes. On Apple Watch, open the app once while the watch is charging and on Wi-Fi — that's when it catches up fastest.
A route imported, but it has no climbs or surfaces
Those come from matching your track against the real road network, which needs a connection. Pull the route up again once you're back online. If it still doesn't fill in, the track may be too far off any known road to match confidently — this happens with very sparse GPS traces, routes drawn freehand across open country, or files recorded with long gaps. The route still works for riding and tracking; it just won't have climb ratings or surface data.
The surfaces or climbs look wrong for my route
Check the activity type. A road-bike route and a gravel route are matched against different road networks and will snap differently. You can set a default in Settings and override it per route.
Route generation says it can't reach the server
Generating and editing routes need a connection to our server. If it's briefly unavailable, trying again in a few minutes usually does it — everything else in the app, including tracking, keeps working without it.
How do I get my GPX files back out?
Every route is mirrored as a plain GPX file in your own iCloud Drive, under Rittiers, in the same folders you made in the app. Open the Files app, or Finder on a Mac, and they're there. It works the other way too: drop a GPX into that folder and the app picks it up.
Importing from Apple Health doesn't show my workouts
Rittiers needs permission to read your workouts. Check Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Rittiers and allow workout and route access. Only workouts that recorded a route can be imported — an indoor ride has no GPS trace to turn into one.
I'm not getting turn or climb alerts while riding
Alerts are opt-in per kind. Open Settings › Ride Alerts in the app and pick the ones you want. Also check that your phone or watch isn't in silent mode or a Focus that suppresses them.
